Ambassador Program

MEANS Database is seeking remote volunteer Ambassador applicants to join our team from
January to April 2021. This ten week program offers unique opportunities to engage
in day to day nonprofit service and directly expand our reach as a nonprofit organization.
Applicants that join our team will broaden their knowledge of nonprofit work, food security,
sustainability, and more.
Volunteer Tasks:
  • Develop the MEANS Emergency Food Provider Directory
  • Develop & Expand regional networks of MEANS Donors and Recipients
  • Conduct stewardship with existing MEANS partners in your region
  • Research the impact of COVID-19 on the specific needs and costs of local Emergency Food Providers
  • Approximately 15-20 hours of volunteering per month
  • All are welcome to apply
  • Passionate about ending hunger and food insecurity in America
  • Willing to commit at least 15 hours a month to the Ambassador Program
  • Able to attend weekly or bi-weekly check ins via Zoom

Ambassadors will engage in:


  • Engagement with local nonprofits
  • Engagement with local businesses
  • Volunteering in local food banks
  • Fundraising


  • Collect data on the needs of the Ambassador’s own community
  • Learning about the barriers to food recovery
  • Learn how food insecurity is perpetuated by inequality


  • Sharing on social media
  • Thanking and appreciating the organizations making a difference
  • Engagement with a community of other students passionate about ending hunger
